Theo and his boyfriend Bailey drive up to Akerly, Oregon to visit Bailey's parents. Traumas from the past, and unknowable forces, begin to gnash their teeth.

Heaven is a psychological religious horror visual novel with LGBTQ themes and furry characters. Please see below for content warnings

This game was created for the Novembuck game jam. Be sure to check out the other amazing entries!

The sprites for the game were kindly provided for the jam by Camazule and Cheetah!

Note for the jam:

I cut it quite close for time on this one y'all, I am sleep deprived ๐Ÿ˜… As a result, the game only covers around half of the planned story before reaching a "To Be Continued" screen. I hope to release the full story soon. I do have the story fully laid out in outline, but it proved to be too much to do in a month.

Also as a result, I was able to do very little proper playtesting. If you find a bug, please yell at me about it

The itchio page will also be tidied up at a later date, after the jam period ends at the end of December.

While I would've liked to have completed the story in a month, I am proud of the stuff this build does include. I hope you enjoy! ๐Ÿฉท

You can find me on Bluesky! I post like, once a quarter

The story had so much character to it, and the relatable events made it read so naturally. I especially adored their relationship and the accurate mega church experience. Then the bits with the game and the little cutscenes, my gosh they had me hooked! Only critique is that some of the transitions/time jumps were slightly confusing. That and the fact that I need more!

I did not know that I needed or wanted a queer furry adaptation of 'Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God', but here we are. My heart was already pounding at the interactions on the construction site, so I shudder to think of what is coming next.

dude...holy crap this story has potential!

now I just want more

hahaaaa it took me maybe a bit too long to figure out that this isn't just slice of life, it's religious horror babeyyyyyy

Thank you so much--loved Curtains Call last May as well!

OMG THIS IS SO GOOD?! I love the banter between the Theo and Bailey so much omg they make me so sick. But what I really love is the slow deteration of the comfy vibes into the unsettling middle ground where you want to believe the best in the characters but they're just acting so off. I'm honestly surprised Religious Horror isn't explored more in the FVN sphere considering how big Horror as a genre is, but I am EATING THIS UP! There's so many cookie crumbs of things that could go wrong once shit hits the fan and I am all here for it! I'll be awaiting the next part UGH I CANT WAIT

Ahh that really means a lot, I'm so glad a lot of it landed for you :) Thank you so much for reading!
